Denzil Gallagher is a principal with Buro Happold. An MEP engineer and a specialist in high performance systems engineering, Denzil is responsible the delivery of MEP projects in the New York office while also overseeing the day to day operations of the Chicago office. He joined Buro Happold in 1993 after graduating from University of Northumbria in the United Kingdom with an honors degree in building services engineering. Prior to moving to the New York office in 2002, he worked in Buro Happold’s Bath, London, Riyadh, Warsaw, and Glasgow offices. 

A principal of Buro Happold since 2007, Denzil communicates and delivers integrated environmental solutions with creativity and passion. He designs with the latest computational tools to push boundaries to get the right solution.

Denzil has contributed to many award-winning and sustainable projects around the world, including the Danish National Opera House in Copenhagen; Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center in Troy, New York; Genzyme Headquarters in Boston; Al Faisaliah development in Riyadh; the Millennium Dome in Greenwich, UK; and the Globe Theatre in London. In addition, he has participated on a number of very low-energy, passively ventilated buildings throughout Europe. Denzil’s commitment to using an integrated design approach for every project brings great value to Buro Happold’s clients.
