Right on time
Consisting of five plots covering 87 acres, the Lodha Clariant project will see a new residential development delivered on the popular Kolshet Road in Thane.
Created for the young, middle-income community, the development will consist of a number of one and two bedroom apartments, and is located close to major transport links and a number of the region’s top commercial centres.
The timeframe outlined by our client for this development is extremely tight. This required our engineers to develop a structural design for the buildings that would be durable yet quick to construct, while simultaneously creating a coherent and integrated building services strategy.
To allow for fast track construction, the Buro Happold team came up with a structural design that could be mirrored across the whole site. This comprised of buildings formed of 30 storeys, all of which are based around a central core, that could then be arranged in different clusters to add variation across the development.
We devised our building services strategy early on, so that it could be integrated with the architectural design which also needed to be finalised in time to be repeated across the apartment buildings as they were constructed. Our structural and services teams worked closely to design the systems and produce coordinated drawings that identified where the service shafts would be located.
Using Revit to produce a model for the services infrastructure of each building, we were able to then use this to provide the local contractors with as much information as possible so that they could install the services with minimal risk.Sean Mooney, Director
