Felix Summers
Associate Director
Felix is a structural engineer based in our Bath office. He joined Buro Happold in 2012.
As a Project Leader with a diverse range of experiences, Felix leads the structural design for a number of exciting projects in the education, cultural, commercial and sports and entertainment sectors. With a passion for communication and problem solving, Felix successfully integrates diverse teams of engineering and built environment specialists and is a natural communicator with other designers, clients and their representatives.
Over recent years, Felix has delivered a number of high-profile and flagship academic buildings for top UK universities. These developments have had the highest of sustainable aspirations, including BREEAM Outstanding and Net Zero Carbon design briefs, as well as being architecturally and structurally expressive.
Felix also leads Buro Happold’s Share Our Skills programme, which enables all employees globally to pitch for time to work on pro bono projects in their local communities and around the world. To date, the programme has enabled over 75 diverse and exciting projects, from the design and construction of buildings such as schools and community centres, to the provision of flood-risk management strategies for whole city districts.
He is a chartered member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers.
