This statement is made pursuant to Section 54, Part 6 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and applies to companies in the BuroHappold Group.
BuroHappold Engineering is committed to the highest possible standards of transparency and probity to promote and implement systems to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
We seek to identify and do business with companies that have aligned standards consistent with ours, including working to cascade these expectations throughout their own supply chain.
Our company is committed to the community and the environment and to ensuring consistent levels of transparency in our approach.
We have a comprehensive Equal Opportunities Policy that ensures all employees are treated equally and is applied to our contract and agency staff, sub-consultants and suppliers.
We operate our projects within a suite of management procedures, which are based upon our Quality Management System (QMS) that is certified to ISO 9001 by the leading certification body Lloyds Register Quality Assurance. The QMS includes procedures on the procurement of sub-consultants and suppliers.
We outsource a relatively small proportion of our work and apply rigour to our selection process, to mitigate any potential risk to the projects for which we take delivery responsibility.
We have an approved list of delivery suppliers, who are preferred sub-consultants that provide bulk CAD work, BIM work and/or detail design to our global offices and are generally located in developing countries where there may be a higher risk of modern slavery or human trafficking. As a consequence, they have come through a rigorous selection process, which includes an assessment of their health, safety and wellbeing policies to become approved suppliers to the global business. We also carry out routine visits to the offices of these delivery suppliers to ensure that their practices meet their policies.
BuroHappold regards this statement as best practice and encourages accessibility for all employees, partners, contractors and suppliers through publication on its internal intranet site and external website.
The Chief Executive Officer and the Board fully endorse this Statement.
BuroHappold Engineering and its employees are committed to developing, embedding and maintaining excellent Health & Safety management as a core business deliverable.
