Michael Salvo
Associate Director
Michael joined Buro Happold in 2015. He is based at our Berlin office and specialises in complex structures and their performance through linear and non-linear analysis, computational and data-driven design workflows.
With more than 16 years of industry experience, he has successfully delivered projects of various sizes across Europe, East Asia, and the Middle East. As project leader for small and large developments, Michael oversees multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful implementation of engineering designs, utilising his comprehensive knowledge of European, Asian, and North American market experience.
In 2018, Michael assumed the role of European Sports & Entertainment Sector leadership, where he has cultivated strategic relationships with sports architects/planners, sport-governing bodies and leading professional clubs throughout Europe. Using data-driven design, Michael and the European S&E team deliver exceptional results both on and off the field of play for our clients.
Michael earned his BSc in civil engineering in 2007 and later specialised in structural engineering.
