‘Positive Climate’ is an ongoing Buro Happold programme that empowers clients and collaborators as we work together to tackle how the built environment can contribute to this imperative.

The UK is embracing ‘building back better’ with many regions investing millions into development, regeneration and transformation. Huge investment in carbon-friendly transport is also playing its part. High carbon companies continue to struggle, while new markets open for climate positive technologies.

Some sectors are embracing sustainability more than others. We know that affordability is often a key consideration. However, in many cases the missing element is simply the right information to support the understanding of where and how changes can be made.

In this programme, we hear insights from some of the UK’s leading engineering, advisory and consultancy experts. They examine how the industry can navigate the drive for sustainable and low carbon solutions, alongside repurposing existing buildings and creating new structures. Both new developments and retrofitting and repurposing old buildings will be critical as the UK targets strong economic growth, with climate change considerations now top of the global agenda.
