Data Driven Outcomes: Space

Our experts in human behaviour analytics, people movement, smart building technology and data visualisation will be sharing the art of what’s possible alongside best practice.

As one of the very first to connect data and analytics with building performance, health, wellbeing and productivity, space quality and utilization, Buro Happold invites you to join a series of masterclasses exploring how data is driving better, safer, more people-centric and energy-efficient buildings.

In the first of this series of masterclasses, Shrikant will unpack how turning data into insights is driving better space utilisation across a mix of building typologies. By learning from real data and being able to visualise changes such as such as alternative floor layouts, buildings are far more space efficient and reducing costs for owners and occupiers.

Tom will be discussing the different ways in which occupancy data can be gathered from new IoT sensors or from data you may already have.

Speakers

Shrikant Sharma

BEng MTech PhD CEng MIMechE | Group Director

Shrikant leads our Analytics team that offers innovative insights into how people interact with their surroundings, harnessing this insight to optimise the design and operational logistics for buildings and urban spaces.

This “people-centered” design approach uses our insights into people’s behaviour, activities and journeys to maximise space utilisation, wayfinding, circulation efficiency, retail revenues, operational effectiveness, resilience, and ultimately visitor experience.
