The Edit 2023

A year in review

The Edit is Buro Happold’s annual magazine showcasing exceptional our work, and insights into our growth and strategy at a transformative time for the practice.

Each year, we take the opportunity to reflect on key initiatives and changes that have taken place across the practice, as well as highlighting several of the impressive projects we have delivered. We continue to demonstrate our commitment to developing built environments that are better for people, places and planet.

In this issue, our senior leaders share their thoughts on the key areas that make up our work: buildings, cities, design, technology, advisory and sustainability.

You will also hear from Oliver Plunkett, CEO, on the importance of building in resilience as we grow, from Marc Barone, COO, on his approach to his new role and the need for strong client relationships and from Misti Melville, CPO, on how we equip our people with the skills and opportunities to succeed.

We hear from Buro Happold people from across the world about why the work we do truly matters to them and their dedication to delivering positive outcomes.

Throughout The Edit, you will see the importance Buro Happold places on sustainability and our impact on the planet. The launch of our net zero routemap was a central part of our strategy this year. Hear from Duncan Price, sustainability/climate global lead, on the critical nature of the routemap in our current and future work.

Thank you to those who have contributed to The Edit. We are grateful to you and all Buro Happold people for your continuing application of skills, insight, dedication and enthusiasm to Buro Happold and the impactful work we deliver across the world.
