Tobias Lotz

Tobias is mobility and transport expert. As an Associate Director, he leads the mobility team, part of the Cities department, in Europe. He joined Buro Happold in 2020 and is based at our Berlin office. 

In this role, he works on sustainable and strategic mobility development planning as well as innovative and future-orientated mobility solutions. He puts a strong focus on carbon reduction measures. Over the course of more than 10 years of practical work experience, seven of them as project manager and team leader, Tobias also gained expertise in the field of traffic emission control, including noise and air pollution. 

Tobias’ experience covers many different planning levels and standards, and project sizes. He has been involved in the political planning levels and has worked with stakeholders within the public and private sectors. One focus of his work was the development of traffic forecasts and mobility concepts as well as advising clients and authorities on their implementation.  

As a project manager he contributed to the mobility planning for noteworthy projects such as the mobility strategy for City West, a built-up and highly frequented area in the centre of Berlin.  

Tobias studied traffic management at the Technical University of Berlin. He lectured at the Beuth University of Applied Science and was trained to become a Sustainability Manager in 2019. Most recently he trained as a certified SCRUM Master (PSM 1 – Agile Methods / Agile Management) as well as Product Owner (PSPO 1). He is a member of the Verein Deutscher Ingenieure, the professional industry body for German engineers.
