Sven Chung

Sven joined Buro Happold’s Berlin office in 2023 as Associate. He leads our Hotel Technology Team in the Europe region and is developing our presence, capabilities and technical expertise in the hotel sector.

In his role as team lead, he offers specialist consulting, advisory and planning services focussed on the hotel and hospitality sectors across Europe.  

Sven has experience in planning building automation in a wide range of buildings, including cultural, education, hospital and commercial buildings. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field of building automation, he has a broad knowledge in all fringe areas, recognising synergies and potential problems and providing suitable solutions. 

His particular professional interest and area of expertise lies in sustainable and energy-efficient design achieved through room automation and the interconnection of intelligent systems. 

Sven graduated from the University of applied science Cologne, Germany in 2013. Vocational training as an electronics technician gave him valuable practical experience.
