Joining Buro Happold in 2018, Réka is a key member of our infrastructure team based in London.

Réka specialises in the preparation of bids for large masterplans, and the design of infrastructure projects from planning to construction stage. Her expertise includes utility strategies, highway works and drainage design.

Réka brings a fresh perspective to the team owing to her formal education in the design of sustainable urban drainage systems. A keen environmentalist, Réka believes that good engineering is a key pillar of sustainable and equitable development and encourages carbon-conscious infrastructure designs.

She is passionate about sustainable and humanitarian engineering, and has been involved in a diverse range of urban development projects. During her time at Buro Happold, Réka has led a pro-bono project in Kibera, Kenya, designing surface water drainage to provide flood resilience to the community. Her experience working in large multidisciplinary projects and smaller human-centred design work provides insight into the impact that infrastructure design has on people’s lives.

Réka graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2018 with a first-class honours degree in civil engineering. She is also a community ambassador for the Happold Foundation.
