Phil Proctor

Phil is an energy engineer with extensive experience in managing complex systems integration projects. He is based in our London office and joined Buro Happold in 2018.

In his role, Phil manages a diverse range of activities including electro-mechanical integrated projects, SCADA and electronic converter technologies, high voltage DC, and the development of smart grid technology solutions and systems modelling.

Throughout his career, he has passionately focused on innovation and decarbonisation in the energy industry. This experience has included managing two large UK government backed projects looking at how to achieve 2050 carbon targets under the Climate Change Act through the transitioning of energy networks and decarbonisation of heat respectively.

Phil has contributed to the development of standards and supported evidence gathering and input to support changing UK policy direction. This included sitting on the BSi committee for energy storage and Smart Grid Forum sub-committees on smart grids and energy storage.

Phil is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
