Justin Etherington
Director
Justin is an energy consultant and leads our London energy team in the UK. He joined Buro Happold in 2008
In his role, Justin brings together his project delivery experience and lifecycle thinking to develop creative and deliverable energy solutions to meet our clients’ needs. His main area of focus is providing borough and campus net zero energy and decarbonisation strategies for higher education estates and high profile mixed-use developments.
Additionally, he supports his team with energy statements for planning applications, techno-economic analyses and business cases, technical design and procurement support for heat pump integrations and as a client engineer for district heat network projects.
As a chartered engineer, Justin has over ten years of experience in low carbon energy systems and building design. He believes a whole system approach is key to creating deliverable, equitable and fair transition projects to support societies net zero challenge.
