Julian Sheppard

Julian has 25 years structural and engineering experience and is a Director based in Buro Happold’s Bath office. He is responsible for managing multidisciplinary project teams, often including structural, civil and ground engineers, as well as specialist services where appropriate.

Over the course of the last 17 years, Julian’s focus has been in the aviation sector where he has played a key role in several projects at Heathrow including Terminal 2 Interchange & MSCP, Terminal 3 MSCP, Terminal 3 and 4 redevelopments and the construction of T2 Concourse B – North. Manchester Airport T2 Transformation Project.

His diverse experience, gained working in a variety of sectors and multidisciplinary projects including the Millennium Dome and Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, comprise basements and subways, exposed steel and concrete framed buildings, blast resistant facades, glass structures and refurbishment and strengthening.

A number of recent Heathrow projects have included security blast and vehicle bomb mitigation measures and rail and tunnel infrastructure approvals.
