Jose Cardenas

Jose joined Buro Happold in 2018 to lead our Munich office.

With over 30 years experience, he supervises multidisciplinary teams carrying out work on complex projects with a focus on the office, hospitality and retail sectors. Doing this, he ensures innovation, creativity, technical know-how and collaborative team work are brought to our project teams.

Jose studied mechanical engineering at the University of Santiago. Throughout his career he has worked in diverse roles as a D&B Contractor, MEP consultant, project and design manager, project director and client representative in the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Serbia, Austria and Dubai for large cultural, commercial and hospitality projects. During which Jose coordinated multidisciplinary design teams from conceptual stage, to construction, commissioning and hand-over.

As director of engineering and operations for Tishman Speyer he supervised design, engineering and property management operations for projects like Sony Center Berlin and MesseTurm Frankfurt.

Between 2008 and 2015 Jose worked in Dubai as a project director for the Morganti Group leading the delivery of large high-rise quality mixed-use developments in the UAE.
