Ian Redmayne

Joining Buro Happold in 2022, Ian has over 30 years’ experience in leading multidisciplinary design teams in the delivery of major projects around the world. 

Based in Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia (KSA), Ian is a Buro Happold Partner and Country Director. He manages key client relationships in the KSA and provides the local team with leadership and guidance. Ian has a passion for talent development, particularly in the training and development of Saudi nationals. 

Ian has spent the last 10 years in the Middle East, predominantly in KSA, leading and project managing world class projects, such as King Abdulaziz International Airport, Doha Metro and Riyadh Metro. 

Ian has also held several Managing Director roles at international AEC firms, including Atkins, Faithful + Gould and Atkins Acuity for KSA, where he led a team of 450 people. Whilst at Atkins, Ian established the Riyadh Academy, specifically designed to train and develop Saudi nationals in engineering and project management.

With a professional background in civil engineering, Ian is a chartered Civil Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Civil Engineers.
