Ashveen is an award-winning chartered engineer with 18 years of international experience in the public health field.

He has international expertise in tall buildings and large scale projects across multiple sectors including education, commercial, residential and cultural. Having previously worked in the UK, Mauritius and Seychelles, Ashveen is now based in the UAE. He is currently an Associate Public Health Engineer in our Dubai office.

Ashveen’s technical skills include: water services, waste water systems, storm water drainage including sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDs) and rainwater attenuation, fuel oil systems, LPG design, and fire fighting systems.

In 2011 and 2020, Ashveen won the ‘Plumbing Engineer of the Year’ at the Middle East MEP Awards for his innovative engineering design on Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai, and the research he undertook on pathogens in the plumbing system.

Ashveen was made a Fellow of CIBSE in 2021. He is also a Member of the CIBSE UAE Technical Committee. He was invited to be part of the committee reviewing the design codes of healthcare facilities by Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA), which were published in 2019. He has also written articles for MEP Middle East Magazine.

Ashveen is currently researching and writing about a new concept – Pathogens Management Train (PMT). It consists of identifying the different pathways of transmission of pathogens in plumbing systems and implementing measures to mitigate the risks. His work on PMT is receiving attention from the authorities and engineering institutions in the Middle East, Australia and UK. He presented his paper, “Pathogens management train (PMT) in public health engineering systems“ at the CIBSE Technical Symposium 2021.

Ashveen is currently researching the capillary action irrigation system to reduce the amount of water required for irrigation, and constructing a model of the system which will be used to investigate contamination of water from the irrigation system.
