Think ‘people centred design’ – it works on many levels
Our own investment into research has given us insights into how buildings are really used by people. Is improvement in occupant comfort, wellbeing and safety a priority? To learn more we worked with Morphosis Studio in Los Angeles as a live study environment which included post occupation evaluation (POE). As pioneers of people-centred design, we are able to elevate tired spaces and implement new technologies to enhance the environment, creating a positive response to your asset which is half the battle in ensuring an asset grows in value.
You can also take advantage of our service to predict people movement, using our real-time simulation tools. These help to optimise layouts and enhance the visitor experience, as we did for London City Airport. We can then fine tune operational parameters. At Queens Hospital our study saved £3m by removing the need for a new building, by using existing assets more efficiently. At The Royal United Hospital we determined the utilisation of each outpatient departments. This analysis enables the utilisation to be increased thus releasing the space occupied by three of the departments for the construction of a new oncology department. At Heathrow T4 we created a computer simulation of the baggage handling routes before putting them into practice, reducing risk and saving significant costs.
