Joining an online meeting or conference call
Employees at BuroHappold Engineering use Skype for Business to host online meetings. This page provides guidance for external parties on the different ways you can join a meeting.
Join via your PC
In your meeting request, click Join Skype Meeting.
Using Skype for Business…
A Skype window will appear and you will join the meeting.
You microphone is automatically muted. To unmute, click the mic button and people in the meeting will be able to hear you.
If you need to switch to a different audio device, click the Call Controls button then click Devices.
Using the Web App…
The Skype for Business Web App is an alternative way to join the meeting if you don’t have Skype for Business. It opens automatically in your browser window, and will connect you to the meeting.
Enter your name on the sign-in screen and select Join the meeting.
Follow your browser’s instructions for installing the Skype for Business Web App Plug-in, which is required for audio, video, and screen sharing (more info).
Join via Telephone
If you are away from your PC or do not have access to the internet, you can join a Skype for Business meeting via telephone.
- On your phone, dial one of the international conference numbers listed in your meeting request.
- Enter the Conference ID by using your phone dial pad.
- You will be prompted to record your name so it can be announced to the other participants. You will then be added to the meeting.
Please note: You do not require a ‘dial-in PIN’, simply enter the Conference ID for your meeting when prompted.
When in the meeting, you can dial *1 on your phone to get a list of options, such as mute, unmute, and so on.
Join using Video Conferencing
To join a meeting from a video conferencing unit, external participants can dial IP address 220.127.116.11, entering the Conference ID from the meeting invite when prompted.
BuroHappold employees can join from a video conferencing unit by simply dialling the Conference ID.
