Yutao Song

Yutao is a senior spatial data analyst offering innovative solutions for complex problems on movement flow. His expertise lie in spatial methodologies and computational skills.

Yutao has been practising spatial design and analysis for over six years on a wide range of projects across Europe, Middle East and Asia. He joined Buro Happold’s Analytics team in 2019 after working as a project consultant on several award-winning projects in the spatial analysis industry.

Yutao holds the MRes in Space Syntax from University College London and specialises in evidence-based consultancy and computation optimisation on space and people. Since joining the practice, he has led and participated in various challenging projects in the education, cultural and rail sectors.

In addition to Yutao’s consultation role, he is actively involved in product development and has been responsible for the maintenance and development of the in-house simulation software such as SmartMove, SmartSpace Analyser and other spatial analytic tools.
