Victoria Bentley is a professional copywriter at BuroHappold Engineering. She was a journalist for 12 years, working in magazines and online.
Victoria recently worked as a features editor at Time Out and Time Out Kids Middle East in Dubai, writing and editing news, features and interviews, as well as managing the Time Out Kids social media accounts and producing Time Out Guides content.
She was editor of IPC Media’s Caravan magazine from June 2007, rising to become senior editor of the title and its sister brand, Motor Caravan. The youngest editor at IPC Media at that time, and also the first female editor of Caravan in its 75-year history, she was shortlisted for both Editor and Magazine of the Year at the IPC Media Awards. Her success was attributed to ‘her unwavering optimism in times of adversity….her positive attitude and approachability really motivated the team to deliver’.
Her other roles include editor/ writer at China Daily, Beijing, news reporter for Caterer and Hotelkeeper Magazine and acting chief sub-Editor at Wedding and Wedding Flowers magazines.
She is also a qualified CELTA teacher (English as a Foreign Language), completing a Cambridge University CELTA course at International House, Dubai in 2014. She designed and taught a series of courses entitled ‘English for Nannies and Au Pairs’, as well as running specialist business English classes at Foster+Partners.
