Sabrina Bornstein is a principal in our Los Angeles office and leads Buro Happold’s United States’ cities team. Sabrina has over of 15 years of experience in local government, policy development, and the built environment.

Sabrina joined BuroHappold in 2019 to lead the climate resilience practice for the Cities team. Her work has spanned resilience strategy, climate policy, infrastructure planning, and community economic development.

Prior to joining BuroHappold, Sabrina served as Deputy Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Los Angeles, where she helped develop and execute the City’s first resilience strategy. In this role, she represented Los Angeles in the 100 Resilient Cities Network and the C40 Cool Cities Network, collaborating with resilience policy leaders across California and the globe. Sabrina holds a BA from Stanford University and an MA in urban planning from UCLA.

Her recent work includes leading the Los Angeles County Climate Vulnerability Assessment and Silicon Valley Clean Energy Community Energy Resilience Framework, as well as serving as climate adaptation lead for West Hollywood’s Climate Action and Adaptation Plan and Tucson Resilient Together.
