Roger is a chartered town planner with over 17 years experience.
He has supported governments and private sector investors in the UK and around the world in 100 cities across 15 countries, developing and implementing integrated plans for infrastructure, urban development and regeneration. These include large scale mixed-use developments, special economic zones and smart city development initiatives.
He is one of Buro Happold’s key thinkers on urban issues and how cities can position themselves to address economic, social and environmental challenges including opportunities relating to technological change and climate change risks.
He has developed strategic plans, masterplans and feasibility studies for Special Economic Zones including the Lamu Node of LAPSSET Corridor, Kenya a new port anchored economic city, Panama Pacifico Special Economic Zone a new city district anchored by an airport, logistics and commercial zone, and Navi Mumbai Special economic zone in India anchored by technology and textile clusters along with supporting residential and commercial uses. He has also developed plans for integrating industrial cities with wider metropolitan areas including Sohar Urban masterplan in Oman.
He is the group director for strategy and plans at Buro Happold leading our global team in the fields of urban planning and economics.
