Paula Longato

Joining Buro Happold in 2019, Paula is the Head of Lighting Design at our Berlin office.

She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in architectural design, urban planning and lighting design. Paula has an MA in Architectural Lighting Design, a BArch in Architecture and Urbanism and has lived and worked in Brazil, Germany and the UK.

Paula’s design approach shows a deep understanding of architectural principles and their interplay with light. Her strong relationship to daylight design, together with her ability to design integrated electric lighting schemes makes her an all-round lighting designer.

She is passionate about using inclusive, sustainable and integrated lighting solutions in her design work. Her approach to design shows a deep understanding of architectural principles, as well as the effect lighting has on our environment, health and wellbeing.

Paula is part of Buro Happold’s Urban C:lab, an internal thought leadership group which explores new ways of designing the built environment, as well as addressing urgent environmental issues.
