Matthew is the leader of the acoustics group at BuroHappold Engineering.
He joined BuroHappold in January 2014 bringing with him almost 25 years of experience in engineering dynamics, vibration and acoustics. Matthew has provided specialist consulting advice to clients, architects and contractors around the world in a wide range of sectors: civic buildings, concert and entertainment venues, education buildings, health and scientific facilities.
He has taught acoustics to Masters level in three universities and has supervised the research of more than 60 post-graduate students. He has written one of the standard textbooks on noise and vibration control and is a visiting Professor at both the University of London and at Cranfield University.
Matthew has particular expertise in the assessment and control of vibro-acoustic phenomena in
buildings and other structures.
