Mark provides project leadership for Environmental Impact Assessment across the practice.
Mark has a strong knowledge of a number of environmental and engineering disciplines. He is therefore able to effectively communicate opportunities and constraints and act as an intermediary between clients, architects and technical specialists throughout the development planning process. He has led Buro Happold’s environmental and engineering input on a range of masterplanning and tall building projects across the UK and overseas.
Mark is an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) project manager, having delivered Environmental Statements for a wide range of successfully permitted schemes for planning.
This includes covering the need for EIA through the screening process, the content of the EIA through scoping and authoring and coordinating/managing technical team inputs into Environmental Statements.
He has experience of consultation and regulatory interfacing with a variety of statutory consultees through the development planning process, including local authorities, the Environment Agency, Natural England and Public Consultation.
Mark is a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) with the UK Society for the Environment and a Full Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (MIEMA).
