George has been with Buro Happold ever since his graduation from Imperial College in 1997 and has embraced the challenges offered to him and brought fresh thinking and new ideas to each project that he has been involved in. He has gained experience in many types of structures, from simple linear superstructures where the behaviour is readily predictable, to more complex structures such as high rise towers and shell active form structures where their behaviour is highly non-linear and difficult to predict.
George has a particular interest in high rise and seismic design and is a board member of the Buro Happold Tall Buildings and Seismic Expert Community bodies. His skills are evident in another of his projects, the $800M Zorlu Centre in Istanbul, Turkey. Rather than follow the accepted norms, George and his team have pushed through the application of Performance Based Designs and are helping obtain approvals for designs that have been subject to rigorous non-linear analysis and modelling.
