Farhad Rahim
Associate Director
Farhad is an Associate Director at Buro Happold, with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. He is a member of the City of London Livery, The Worshipful Company of Light Mongers and CIBSE Society Lighting and Lighting.
In his role, Farhad is responsible for the technical design development, collaboration of multidisciplinary services delivery, providing advisory consultation and managing internal and external client relationships on projects.
Farhad’s experience includes: the development of lighting designs for a wide range of projects ranging from large residential, commercial and retail developments, to art galleries, educational institutes, hotels and light art installations.
His expertise lies in providing sound lighting designs, which embrace creativity and art, whilst ensuring practical applications of designs to include energy efficacy, electrical systems and controls to support schemes. Farhad provides complete lighting design solutions catered specifically for the individual requirements of each client and project.
Considering both people and use of space are key to Farhad’s designs. He delivers a “hands on” approach to projects from concept to completion and is deeply involved with the training and development of staff.
Farhad is an active member of the lighting community within the UK. He is involved in the promotion of the lighting industry and often delivers public addresses at key lighting events, conferences and coverage in publications.
