Davood has over 25 years’ experience as a civil engineer and particularly as a bridge expert in the UK, USA, Europe, Middle East and Far East. He is the chief bridge engineer at Buro Happold and is the Director responsible for the firm’s dedicated “Bridges and Civil Structures” team operating from London. He is also a business Partner at Buro Happold.
He is professionally involved with the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers and the RIBA in the UK. He has a strong working relationship with many leaders in the construction industry. His client portfolio includes local authorities and municipalities as well as with private sector clients, developers and contractors. Davood is proud to have worked with many good architects over the years on competition winning designs including the Ponte della Musica in Rome and Copenhagen Harbour Swing Bridge.
Davood has strong leadership and management skills and has delivered many successful multi-disciplinary projects within the built environment including Emirates Stadium bridges and Olympic 2012 infrastructure and masterplanning project. He develops collaborative relationships involving multiple professionals including Architects, Contractors, Engineers and Project Managers. He has the ability to work with principles of Design and Construct from both designer and contractor perspectives, working with contractors to ensure optimum value, management of risk and certainty of delivery for clients. His technical competency is evidenced through delivery of complex infrastructure projects with significant environmental and structural constraints. His projects often involve collaborative working with clients and stakeholders and suppliers. He excels in innovation and value engineering in order to maximise value for clients through attention to detail.
