Ana Araujo

Ana is an engineer and Chartered Building Surveyor with a passion for historic buildings. She joined Buro Happold in 2014 and became a Partner in 2023.

For almost two decades, Ana has been surveying and providing design advice for existing buildings (of all ages) in Europe, UK and ME. Bringing her expertise to our Facade Consultancy Team, she has been adding surveying, diagnostics and conservation expertise to the team’s highly specialised skillset, incentivising a new generation of consultants that combine complex design skills with the understanding of existing fabric and how to refurbish existing buildings of all ages.

In her role, Ana leads teams working on a portfolio of existing building projects, providing advice to help clients manage, transform and upgrade their assets and is frequently engaged in the repair, recladding and extension of existing buildings, working on high-profile projects from Georgian to more contemporary buildings.

She specialises in Technical Due Diligence Inspections, Dilapidations, Pre-Purchase Surveys and Compliance Monitoring, including new-build projects across all sectors to monitor the design, procurement, manufacture and installation in relation to Employer’s Requirements.

In 2015, Ana graduated with an Advanced Professional Award in Expert Witness Evidence, assuming the role of expert witness/adviser, providing technical opinion in disputes, when required. Her combined surveying and façade engineering expertise led to Ana being shortlisted for the 2018 RICS Young Surveyor of the Year Awards (UK).
