Alexia Gkika is an experienced lighting designer, and sustainability and wellbeing champion of the specialist lighting team. She is based in our London office.

Alexia is an accomplished designer with an eye for detail. For every project she leads, she invests time in understanding the project brief, researching the client goals and exploring potential interfaces with core internal and external team members. This enables her to align the design approach to the project’s social, environmental and economical targets and establish an early open communication channel that creates the foundation for a coordinated and successful outcome from conception to completion.

As a result of her working experience in Greece, Sweden and the UK, Alexia has developed a keen interest in the impact of lighting on cultural perception and human psychology. With a particular focus on links to sustainability and inclusivity, Alexia is fascinated by the rapidly advancing LED technology and lighting controls that offer benefits in terms of energy optimisation, material resources and product longevity.

Alexia has a Master’s in Architectural Lighting Design and is a member of CIBSE Society of Light and Lighting and the Institute of Lighting Professionals (ILP). She is also a contributing member to the Green Light Alliance, a group of professionals working together to help everyone in the lighting sector understand their role in adopting and promoting the circular economy.
