Buro Happold’s young engineers recognised in multiple awards

At Buro Happold we are proud to help develop the next generation of exceptional engineers, with four of our recent intake being selected for a number of awards, we round up what is an exciting week for graduate and apprentice talent across the practice.

New Civil Engineer (NCE) Graduate of the Year 2016 Awards

First up, two of Buro Happold’s graduates have made it to the shortlist of only six in the prestigious New Civil Engineer (NCE) Graduate of the Year 2016 Awards. Eleanor Davies, structural engineer and Brittany Harris, water engineer, who are both based in our Bath office will attend the final lunch presentation at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London on 4th November to hear the results.

Civil Engineer’s Apprentices for 2016

Brittany has also been selected as one of the Institution of Civil Engineers President’s Apprentices for 2016. This prominent appointment positions Brittany as an ambassador for the President in the world’s premier engineering institution, representing a significant achievement for Brittany and commitment by Buro Happold.

2016 SoPHE Young Engineer’s Award

A team of three of our engineers has also made it to the final of the 2016 SoPHE Young Engineer’s Award. The team includes Amelie Paszkowski, Brittany Harris (both from Buro Happold’s Water Group) and Ross Boulton, sustainability engineer Their entry proposed a low-cost, sustainable flood protection defence that can be used for individual properties. They are in a final of two teams which will be held on 26 October at Arup’s offices, London.
