Buro Happold named Education Estates Consultancy of the Year 2020

Buro Happold has retained the prestigious title of ‘Consultancy of the Year’ at the Education Estates Awards 2020.

Our UK Education sector team received praise for their use of unique spatial analytics tools to help universities plan for reopening with social distancing measures. Working closely with universities, our data-driven approach and dashboarding skills are ensuring they can enhance efficiency and provide staff and students confidence in the offer of a safe and high-quality experience, despite challenging conditions.

The judges also recognised the importance of our long-term relationships with clients and collaborators who value the innovation, responsiveness, expertise and diligence Buro Happold offers. Particularly with the complex and critical challenges of the climate emergency, net zero carbon campuses and Covid-19.

In the field of student mental health, the judges recognised our continued research and engagement programmes as part of our project work, in particular promoting the themes of social interaction, ease of movement, physical wellbeing, and internal environmental quality.

Always placing the building performance at the heart of our work, the kind support from our clients helped demonstrate our continued success in delivering buildings that provide excellent environments for students and academics, whilst having exceptionally low energy performance.
