Buro Happold in Pittsburgh

In 2012, Buro Happold staff began working and living in Pittsburgh, off the back of our work on The Tower at PNC Plaza in downtown Pittsburgh, a commercial building dubbed the “greenest skyrise” in the world.

This local presence propelled Buro Happold into the Pittsburgh community, and helped solidify a number of project wins throughout Pittsburgh and the Midwest region. The team is focused on delivering high-performance solutions for their diverse set of clients served including higher education institutions, city and state agencies, airport terminals, financial corporations and cultural entities.

Their project portfolio includes a half dozen projects at Carnegie Mellon University, including the Tepper Quad Project, a research and office building at the Hazelwood Green development, an aspirational Workforce Training Center at the Community College of Allegheny County, and planning projects at the University of Pittsburgh and the 8th Street Block District.

The team is currently working on the $1.1 billion Terminal Modernization Program at Pittsburgh International Airport.
