Buro Happold in Edinburgh

Buro Happold’s growing portfolio of prestigious projects throughout Scotland led to the opening of our Edinburgh office in May 2006. Opening precisely 30 years to the day after our first office in Bath, Buro Happold’s Edinburgh office marked an important expansion of our Scottish operation. Helping to develop our existing client relationships, form new ones and establish ourselves as a leading consultant in and around the city.

Based in an award-winning building that our team sympathetically redeveloped to the highest sustainability criteria at the time, the office on Bread Street houses over 40 multi-disciplinary engineers and specialists experienced in the fields of structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, energy, waste, lighting, fire engineering and environmental engineering with support from the wider business for additional specialities.

Backed by the extensive resources and knowledge of a large international practice, the team has local insight and intimate knowledge of construction guidelines and regulations particular to the local market.

Notable projects led by our Edinburgh office include McEwan Hall refurbishment, Aberdeen Art Gallery, Perth Theatre, Bayes Centre – University of Edinburgh, The National Blood Transfusion Service (Jack Copeland Centre), Boroughmuir High School and Appleton Tower – University of Edinburgh.
