Rainier Valcarcel is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 14 years’ experience of delivering large-scale civil infrastructure and development projects across the UK and overseas.

Throughout his career Rainier played a key role in the delivery of several major highways and public realm projects including the Doha New Orbital Highway, Go Cycle Kingston Station and the Southbank Thames Pathway Project for the 2012 London Olympics. He has extensive experience in infrastructure design, project management and developing sustainable solutions to deliver client lead projects in the urban environment.

Rainier is currently an Associate Director in the infrastructure group at Buro Happold, and acts as Project Lead for a number of development and public realm projects including International Quarter London and Go Cycle Kingston Station.

The infrastructure group delivers integrated highway, landscape/landform, drainage and utilities engineering solutions from masterplanning through to detailed design and construction.

Rainier is actively involved in project delivery and is passionate about producing elegant, economic and sustainable engineering solutions.
