Puspita Galihresi

A landscape architect, urban planner and consultant, Pita is our Country Manager for Indonesia. Joining Buro Happold in 2012, she has worked in a variety of roles on a regional, city and development scale, with a key focus on strategic planning.
Pita leads our Cities consulting practice within Indonesia. In this role, she project manages the Integrated Development Plans (IDP) on several sites. This includes Pulomas – an urban generation project larger than Canary Wharf in London – whose purpose is to create a new regional centre in Jakarta with four separate Transit Oriented Developments (TOD) over the next 10 years.
Pita’s project portfolio spans multiple sectors, including the development of Jakarta International Stadium, Pegangsaan Dua in Jakarta and the redevelopment of the PRPP site in Semarang into a digitally enabled exhibition space and cultural complex.
Pita’s previous experience involved leading our Indonesian client engagement team and acting as the interface with local collaborators and experts for the Mimika Coastal Management Plan in Papua. In addition, she has worked on high-profile projects such as the 100RC Jakarta, 100RC Malaka and C40 Jakarta.
Pita trained as a landscape architect before broadening her expertise to include urban planning and design. She has lectured and tutored at universities and government training centres across Asia.
Having worked on government-led projects for more than 10 years, Pita understands the requirements of regulators and policymakers. She has a special interest in sustainable planning, particularly the contribution that planners can make to achieve a better balance between humans and their impact on the planet.
She is inspired by Sir Ted Happold’s Quaker beliefs; that all work should have social value and that “projects should touch the ground lightly”. Pita is proud to be following in Ted Happold’s footsteps. He first worked in Indonesia over 50 years ago on major planning and infrastructure projects, a fact still fondly remembered by some of our senior clients.
