Stuart is an Associate Director based in our Birmingham office, having previously worked in Bath and the Berlin office where he was involved on a number of international projects in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Stuart has over 18 years experience in a wide range of projects including the design and refurbishment within the office, retail, aviation, health and leisure sectors.
Stuart now heads the Birmingham office and, as the team leader for multi-discipline engineering projects, he is responsible for the overall delivery of the client’s requirements. Drawing on his extensive experience of many complex projects and good communication skills he works closely with the whole team to ensure the delivery of a coordinated engineer solutions addressing aesthetics, quality of space, site specific constraints and integrated low carbon technologies.
Stuart is a member of the Buro Happold Health and Scientific Expert Community which helps communicate best practice throughout the company.
Having taught technical English at Potsdam Polytechnic he is keen to promote good design in young engineers and is an approved Supervising Engineer under the ICE Chartership programme providing a mentor role for graduates. He is also a visiting tutor at the Birmingham School of Architecture carrying out critiques and workshops with architectural students and lectures to MSc structural engineering students at Coventry University.
