Simon has over 20 years’ experience as a consulting structural engineer, and has been with Buro Happold since 1989, becoming a Partner in 2004. During this time he has gained a wide engineering knowledge and expertise which has enabled him to successfully carry out a number of high profile and award winning projects.

Simon is passionate about the quality and detail of design and believes the best solutions are achieved through the collaboration of all designers and technical specialists. He is direct in his approach and has particular skills in producing engineering excellence within a managed design process. He enjoys working across a variety of sectors, being able to share his wider experience and knowledge on procurement and successful delivery.

Simon continually strives with his team to deliver affordable high quality solutions. He will dedicate his talents and those of his team to ensure the client’s project is successful – whatever it takes.. He thoroughly enjoys his work and proactively challenges issues to drive the right solutions. He is equally comfortable working on high level project strategy as he is developing the details of design that he firmly believes distinguishes an excellent project. Simon believes good relationships help deliver good projects. Building good communication and strong relationships within the team and with the client is the cornerstone of his approach.
