Kevin Mitchell

UAE Country Director

Kevin has over 20 years’ experience as a consulting Engineer, and has been with Buro Happold since 2008, becoming a Partner in 2010.

Currently the Country Director for Buro Happold in the UAE, Kevin’s career has seen him living and working in the UK, Canada and the Middle East and has given him the opportunity to work on multidisciplinary projects within a variety of sectors.

Holding an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Energy Engineering, Kevin spent the first eleven years of his career in the UK, contributing to the design of facilities in various sectors including healthcare, commercial offices, large scale retail projects, leisure schemes, education, and transportation hubs. In addition to large scale landmark projects, Kevin spent four years in research and development working in the field of thermal comfort in the built environment during which time he was heavily involved with the development of various displacement ventilation and chilled beam schemes. 

In early 2001 Kevin moved to Toronto to form a new integrated A&E design group that specialised in the design of complex facilities, predominantly in the healthcare and scientific sectors. It was during his time in Canada that he further developed his multidisciplinary design skills.

Throughout his career, Kevin has focused on the development of innovative engineering solutions that aim to integrate with, and enhance, the architectural solution in order to produce a product that is truly holistic and sustainable in nature.
