Hayden Nuttall

Hayden joined Buro Happold in 2011 as Technical Director for Structures in our Hong Kong office. He has more than 25 years' experience in design and construction gained from working on a large number of high-profile and challenging projects around the world and he has spent time working in Hong Kong, London, Berlin, Dusseldorf, New York and Dubai. This means he is able to bring a global perspective to the projects he works on.

He is passionate about engineering and creative design. He has a talent for tackling complex problems and finding simple, yet elegant solutions. This stems from his knowledge of engineering, geometry, manufacturing processes and construction methods and his ability to bring these together into cost-effective solutions.

Hayden is an advocate of sustainable design and, wherever possible, his ethos is to develop solutions that are environmentally responsible, preserve natural resources and habitats, reduce embodied and operational carbon and minimise construction waste.

Hayden has particular expertise in tall and super-tall buildings, mixed-use developments, cultural buildings, footbridges and structures with complex geometry.
