Luke McGlone

With 17 years experience of delivering high-speed, digital communications systems to world leading clients, Luke brings extensive knowledge of all stages of the project. From concept and planning to detailed design, through construction to commissioning and aftercare, Luke views the needs of a project as a whole and is continually looking for efficiency and revenue generation opportunity.

With a strong and diverse project portfolio, Luke brings his experience of data centres, retail developments, rail infrastructure, stadia, hotels, smart buildings, healthcare, and residential to lead Buro Happold’s Cities ICT team. In the digital age, early planning is key and Luke works with developers’ and masterplanners’ to create the Digital Masterplan and ensure the sitewide communications infrastructure is scalable and the fixed, mobile and wireless networks are future-proofed and ready to grow with the development.

Having spent the first years of his career in Latin America and Asia installing subsea fibre optic networks, Luke returned to the UK and became a project manager delivering complex, integrated projects. After moving into systems design and solutions architecture, Luke saw the need for technical specialists very early in the design process to ensure all efficiencies are realised by having a consolidated approach to technology.
