UK Prime Minister visits Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah kindly arranged for Mr Cameron and his delegation to spend some time viewing the progress and future plans for the historical city of Diriyah and in particular the UNESCO World Heritage site at Atturaif.
Mr Cameron was accompanied by Sir Tom Phillips, British Ambassador to the Kingdom.
The Prime Minister received a guided tour of the Visitor Centre and an in-depth description of the work being performed on site by the assembled team of world class consultants, who are being lead by Buro Happold. The site extends over 58 acres, and contains 14 new museums and site multimedia that charts the history of the Saud family, and the wars and military history of the Arabian Peninsula.
Buro Happold is providing project management, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services on site at Atturaif. During the design phase Buro Happold worked under the direction of Ayres Saint Gross Architects from Washington.
