A new cable car system is being built across the River Thames in London, UK. Running between Greenwich Peninsula and Royal Victoria Docks, the new system will be known as the Emirates Air Line.
Sponsored by Emirates Airline it will be the first urban cable car system of its kind in the UK, and will allow pedestrians, wheelchair users and cyclists to cross the river Thames within five minutes.
Buro Happold is part of the consortium of experts including Mace, Doppelmayr, and Watson Steel, URS Scott Wilson and Aedas, that are delivering this spectacular project, which is due to open this summer.
