One of the world’s top satellite operators, and the leading satellite services provider in the Arab world, Arabsat, is undergoing an organisation and location change which will see its administration and operational facilities bought together under one roof, in a new state of the art headquarters in Riyadh.
The building, designed by Heneghan Peng architects and engineering consultancy Buro Happold, will combine traditional Middle Eastern building techniques with modern design principles to deliver energy efficiency through the innovative use of daylight, facades and ventilation.
Heneghan Peng director, Roisin Heneghan and Stephen Jolly, Buro Happold principal, commented that the building’s design can be seen as a reflection of Arabsat ethos - forward thinking, dynamic and a leader in its field.
The building is due for completion in 2011.
