Buro Happold has achieved the ultimate honour in Scotland: the consultancy has been chosen as the leading engineer for both structural and building services engineering in the Urban Realm industry poll.
Readers of Urban Realm were asked to vote for the engineering practices that had impressed them the most with their "innovative approaches to total design.” The votes, along with commentaries from clients, were used to rank practices in terms of greatest contribution to the built environment. The publication comments that Buro Happold’s double table-topping performance is a remarkable vindication of strategy for a firm which has done much to internationalise its profile in recent years. Pinning its growth prospects on projects abroad and a ready embrace of new methods of working such as BIM, has proved very rewarding.
In praise and support of Buro Happold, Jack Renteria of 3XN Architects said “We appreciate being able to work with Buro Happold both locally and internationally – ie Copenhagen and Mumbai. They provide excellent and seamless service across borders and are a true international engineering company.”
Paul Westbury, Buro Happold’s CEO was thrilled at the award; “It’s always a real honour to come out top in a poll but it’s even more of a tribute when the voting panel is made up of your clients! I congratulate all of our staff both in Scotland and in our many contributing offices around the world for their dedication and expertise in delivering quality integrated engineering design to our clients. It is terrific to see that our style and approach engenders a real confidence in our clients and that this confidence has secured us sufficient votes to win this amazing accolade.”
