London's newest and most adventurous visitor activity Up at The O2 exemplifies how the O2 at Greenwich continues to develop and grow as a major event space and visitor attraction. Our involvement with the project also provides another example of the long term relationship that Buro Happold has had with the venue since it opened back in 2000 as the Millenium Dome.
Recently Suzanne Bull, CEO of the charity Attitude is Everything, which works with deaf and disabled people to improve their access to live events, completed a fund raising climb of the attraction. The event followed on from the venue being awarded the charity’s gold status and has so far raised in excess of £2,000.
We were there to lend a hand and record the event; access engineer David Dropkin and Rosa D'Alessandro of AEG give an insight into the process behind ensuring that this exciting visitor attraction is accessible to as many people as possible.
