Middle East

Buro Happold began its long and successful relationship with the Middle East over thirty years ago when one of the practice’s first ever commissions was to work on the King’s Office and Council of Ministers Majlis al Shura (KOCOMMAS) in Riyadh.

Since then we have built up our reputation and local expertise on some of the region’s most stunning and complex structures and projects: Tameer Towers, Abu Dhabi; The Prophet’s Holy Mosque, Medina; Khan Shatyr Entertainment Centre, Kazakhstan; the Louvre, Abu Dhabi; Wadi Hanifah, Riyadh, Sabah Al Ahmed Sea City, Kuwait, King Abdulaziz Centre for World Knowledge and Culture, KSA – to name just a few.

From our offices located across the region; Riyadh; Dubai; Abu Dhabi; Kuwait: Cairo; Jeddah; we are able to offer our clients a real ‘local’ understanding of their market and the challenges the region presents – climate, materials, culture and the desire to create truly world class, iconic buildings. With the increasing requirement and need for more sustainable solutions we are adapting our expertise to deliver better social, economic and environmental projects which will benefit future generations across the region; from better education and healthcare facilities to being involved with the creation of Estidama, the area’s first sustainability programme.

The Middle East is a vital part of Buro Happold’s heritage and very much a part of our future.
