Since we were founded in1976, the European region has been of major importance to Buro Happold; we now operate out of 13 offices located across the whole of Europe, each ideally situated to serve ‘local’ clients and to lend their expertise to, and work with our offices further afield.

The region is home to our senior management team – our CEO, Chairman and Senior Partner are all based in Europe, enabling key strategic business decisions to be formulated fast, accurately and decisively. The region also contains seven of our heads of business who are based in offices right across Europe from Warsaw to Bath (home of the very first office).

Our reputation for delivering innovative, sustainable engineering and consulting solutions has spread throughout the region and Europe is a showcase for Buro Happold’s creativity with our positive impact on the health and quality of the built environment visible across the whole of the continent.

Covering nearly 64 acres of land the Europe Centralna is set to become one of the largest integrated retail parks in Central Europe. The development process is divided into several stages, the first a hypermarket, a shopping gallery and retail park will be developed with the total retail space of 70,000 sqm and a 2,000 space parking. The second stage will include developing cutting-edge offices, a technology park, a hotel and a 90,000 sqm retail space. The complex will be located in the neighbourhood of the Silesian agglomeration and next to the largest highway junction, Gliwice-Sośnica, connecting the A1 and A4 highways. Thanks to its location, the development can be reached by over 3,2 million visitors who can access the centre within approx. 60 minutes.
