Contact & Offices

The enduring principles set out by our founding partner Sir Edmund ‘Ted’ Happold were care, value and elegance. We still adhere to this ethos today, offering a full range of engineering services and expertise to meet your project needs and create truly inspirational, world class buildings and environments around the world.

From a current total of 27 offices, with a number of new operations planned later for the year and in the near future we have a truly global reach. As such we have a presence in the majority of construction markets around the world. We split our business operations into four major regions – Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia-Pacific & India.

We believe that it is this ‘local’ presence that helps us to go that step further working closely with our clients to deliver innovative, cutting edge solutions that take into consideration ‘local’ factors such as culture, legislation, climate and materials. This consideration for the rich tapestry of local markets  makes an enormous difference to the projects we work on and in the process makes a great project an amazing project.

The newly refurbished Central Library in Liverpool opened to the public in May 2013. A new repository has also been added, which now provides a home for a historically valuable archive of artefacts dating back over 800 years.

Working closely with architects John Thompson and Partners, we prepared a detailed economic and spatial strategy to support a masterplan for the redevelopment of Dalian’s eastern coastal periphery. The proposed redevelopment, adjacent to the CBD of Dalian City, is substantial in scale incorporating former docks, shipyards, commercial zones, areas of natural beauty and a large petrochemical plant. The economic study involved significant data collection, analysis and interpretation of primary and secondary data sources, in order to best appraise alternative uses for the site.
